Edward Francis Coyle, age 79, of Wilmington, Delaware, formerly of New Castle, Delaware, passed away on October 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Edward graduated from De La Warr High School in 1965. He went on to work for A&P and SuperFresh, dedicating 45 years to his career.
A devoted Philadelphia Eagles and Game of Thrones fan, Edward enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his daughter. His love for dogs also became a special part of his life, inspiring his daughter to pursue a career working with animals. Edward enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, and playing the occasional computer game.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Regina Burke and Harvey Coyle.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Coyle; his daughter, Caitlin Coyle; his son-in-law, Michael Farnan; his sister Rita Willis; his niece, Kim Hughes; and his nephew, Eddie Willis.
At the family’s request, all services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Edward’s memory to Humane Animal Partners.
