Judith Ann “Judy” Potere, age 82, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026.
Judy was a 1961 graduate of Chester High School. She worked at Delaware Curative Workshop for more than 35 years before retiring to care for her grandchildren. Never one to sit still for long, Judy later went to work part-time at Walmart, where she spent more than 15 years and met many wonderful co-workers and regular customers.
Judy welcomed each and every family member into her home. She found great joy in making her children and grandchildren their favorite foods and treats for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. She had a passion for shopping and loved finding that unique piece of décor. She also enjoyed crafting, and you could almost always find her at home relaxing with a diet coke or hot tea and watching a Hallmark movie.
Judy will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family. Her family was at the center of her life, and the memories she created with them will be cherished always.
Judy was predeceased by her father, Foster Dryden; her mother, Emily Dryden (Eyre); and her sister, Betty Jane Saunders.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Silva (Joseph Lalli), Thomas Dodds (Kim Bogia), and Kevin Dodds (Dawn); her sisters, Janice Preston (William) and Carlene Rupertus (Jack); her brothers, Donald Dryden (Patricia); Foster Dryden (Paula) and Voyce Dryden.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Quesenberry, Daniel Quesenberry, Brigid Edwards, Ryan Dodds, Sydney Dodds, Olivia Dodds, Cassidy Dodds, Abigail Dodds, Kailee Dodds, and Emma Dodds; her great-grandchildren, Felicity Quesenberry, Serenity Quesenberry, Timothy Mars, Daniel Quesenberry, Alexis Mars, James Quesenberry, Julie Mars, Adrianna Quesenberry, Annabelle Edwards, and Patrick Edwards; her great-great-grandson, Ryder Quesenberry and many nieces and nephews.
Judy’s love, generosity, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry her love with them always.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be held privately.
