Phyllis A. McKellar (nee Saupp), age 94, of Claymont DE passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026.
Born May 12, 1932 in Hollidaysburg PA, one of twelve children, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Robert in November 2001. She is survived by her sister Arletta Hildebrand of San Diego CA. Also, five children: Terry Gray (Jim), Debbie Katzmire (Jim), Sue Armstrong (Keith), Caroline Ciampaglia (Tom) and Scott McKellar (Diana). Also, eight grandchildren: Kelly Carroll, Lauren Kinney, Matthew Katzmire, Lindsay Gray Rath, Jimmy Gray, Tara Ciampaglia, Crystal Ciampaglia and Nick Ciampaglia. Also, 15 great-grandchildren: Kaysen, Sebastian, Kinsley, Zachary, Maddox, Kendall, Amelia, Aria, James, Heidi, Owen, Fox, Matilda, Hank and Sydney.
Phyllis was a member of Holy Rosary Church, JCC and Sellers Avenue Senior Center. She was formerly involved with Girl Scouts as a leader, co-leader and publicity director. Phyllis loved working in her yard and playing cards with friends and family. She and her husband spent many years boating at their summer home in MD along with traveling and cruising.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 9 at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont DE at 11 am. Visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Rosary or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family appreciates memories and condolences shared through the online obituary.
