Patricia Kathryn Johansen, née Morris, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on March 1, 1948, Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter whose greatest joy was her family.
Patricia’s life centered around the people she loved. She cherished time spent with her family and took great pride in being a devoted wife and mother. She and her beloved husband, Arthur, built a life together filled with family, love, and memories. Though Arthur preceded her in death, the love they shared remained an important part of Patricia’s life.
Patricia was a voracious reader and a lifelong lover of film and television. She could always find enjoyment in a good book, a favorite movie, or a television show. She also had a wonderful enthusiasm for Christmas. Each year, she eagerly transformed her home for the holidays, filling it with an ever-growing army of snowmen. Her love of Christmas became a cherished family tradition and a reflection of the warmth and joy she brought into her home.
For most of her life, Patricia dedicated herself to her family and home. When she did work outside the home, however, she approached every job with the same determination and care. She excelled at whatever she undertook and made friends wherever she went, leaving lasting impressions on the people who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Patricia is survived by her loving son, Christopher, and his wife Kristin; her stepson, Darren; her grandchildren, Peter and Olivia; and the many beloved family members and friends whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her son, Nicholas; her parents, John and Katherine Morris; and her siblings, Robert Morris and Kathy Sauter.
Patricia will be remembered for her deep love of family, her warmth, her devotion to her home, her love of books and movies, and especially the joy she found in Christmas. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose family was the center of her world.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and in the countless memories she created with them.
A memorial service for Patricia will be held at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington DE 19803) on October 8th. Service begins at 11AM, friends and family may begin calling at 10AM.
