In Loving Memory of Gary G. Maxwell
January 5, 1942 – September 27, 2026
Gary G. Maxwell, beloved father, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away on September 27, 2026, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware, at the age of 84.
Born on January 5, 1942, in Peoria, Illinois, Gary lived a life built around family and the people closest to him. He was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan University and a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He had a love of photography and enjoyed working with his hands, taking pride in the many projects he pursued over the years.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Philip and Leonard, and his niece, Julie Brown. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Elizabeth Owen Maxwell Lowe; his father, Ocran Graves “Bud” Maxwell III; and his brother, Theodore O. “Ted” Maxwell.
Those who knew and loved Gary will remember the time they shared with him, the memories they made together, and the special place he held in their lives. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 21 at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 at 1:30 pm.
