John K. Taggart III, age 59 of Wilmington, DE passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and is the son of Margaret M. (DiOrio) and the late John K. Taggart, Jr. John graduated from Thomas McKean High School in 1985.
He worked at Thomas Reutters in Pennsylvania as a systems engineer until the pandemic occurred and was laid off. In 2021 his wife Penny had an accident and was unable to work. Since then, he has been her primary caregiver.
John enjoyed crabbing, playing magic the gathering card game and video computer games. Giving him the most joy was with his family and friends.
Along with his mother he is survived by his wife of 46 years Penny L. (Clough); his two children, John K. Taggart IV and Reanna Nicole Taggart and her fiancé Zachary Black and a sister, Robin Paloni and her husband Ron.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2026 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
