Geraldine Linkous, 85, passed away on September 21, 2026. She was born on May 22, 1941, in West Virginia. She and her husband, Jack, later made their home in New Castle, Delaware.
A woman of God, Geraldine played an active role in the churches she attended throughout her life. She especially loved children and found joy in serving through the church bus ministry.
Geraldine loved working in her garden and planting flowers each spring. She took delight in the birds that visited and painted colorful birdhouses to give them welcoming homes. She also never said no to a “quick” shopping trip with friends and family.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her daughter, Deborah. She is survived by her brother, Kenny; her daughter, Becky; her son-in-law, Chris; her grandchildren, Shawn, Jason, Alex, Kayla, and Rachel; and her great-grandchildren, Samuel and Josiah.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 2, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. Friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Geraldine’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
She will be remembered with love by her family, church communities, and all who knew her.
