Leona Jameson, age 87, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2026, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Kentucky on February 27, 1939, Leona was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lorraine Helmick. Her family relocated to Delaware when she was seven years old, and she later attended Conrad High School.

Leona enjoyed traveling, cooking, and watching the Philadelphia Eagles, and was an avid Phillies fan who never missed a game. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leona will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Arthur Helmick (Margaret); her daughter, Michelle Hamill (James); her son, William Olsen III; her daughter, Darlene Parry (Rick); and her forever daughter-in-law, Moira Snider. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Jeff Jameson (Amy), Eric Jameson (Lisa), DeeDee Gawricki (Kevin), and Suzanne Choi (Tiger); 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-grandchildren.
Leona will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, devotion to family, and loving spirit will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
