Lynn, Judith M.

Judith M. Lynn

4/25/1945 - 8/22/2026

Judy, often called Jude, was born on April 25, 1945 in Wilmington, Delaware, to Clarence Lynn and Esther Campbell Lynn and was little sister and best friend to Elizabeth (Libby) Lynn Thomas for more than 81 years. Jude was predeceased by her parents and Aunt Audrey Lynn; Kevin Patrick Moser; great niece, Sarah Elizabeth Moser; and BFF Betty Tweed. She joins her most loved furry friend, Charlie, in heaven.

She is survived by her sister Libby and brother-in law Ralph Thomas and their four children: Debra Moser (Bryan Yocum), Stephanie Kehoe, Todd Thomas (Kristie), and Lynn Thomas-Bauer (Pete) as well as the “Greats”– Adam Moser (Gillian Isabelle), Kathryn Moser Hughes (Conner), Beau Bauer, Patrick Thomas, Allison Thomas, Cole Bauer and Rebekkah Kehoe. Great-great nephew Kevin Hughes, toddler son of Kate and Conner, lit her eyes and warmed her heart as did Winston, her dog.

Judy graduated from P.S. du Pont High School and was employed at Allstate Insurance for more than forty years. Known as the problem solver and go-to person, Judy retired as a claims manager.

Judy spent a lively childhood and teen summers swimming, boating and fishing at the “cottage” at Hacks Point, Maryland. She excelled at catching perch and river fish and crabs. An excellent basketball player, Judy won awards in the Methodist Church league. An avid fan of sports, she cheered for the Phillies and the Eagles and high school sports especially when the Greats were playing. She loved country music. She rooted for the underdog and was a generous and loyal friend. Over the years, a pattern emerged where “Aunt Jude” was confidant and support without judgment for young family members and their friends. She never broke a promise or told a secret. She will be missed by many.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 27 at 10 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE with a funeral service at 11 am. Interment will follow the service at Riverview.
