Faries, Mary Ann

Mary Ann Faries passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 78, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Mary Ann worked at the DuPont Experimental Station for more than 20 years, but the title she cherished most was Gigi “to her favorite guy,” her grandson, Max.

She was always on the go, never without her great lash mascara and statement necklace. She found great joy in traveling, especially to Florida and Dewey Beach, where she made countless cherished memories with family and friends.

True to who she was, her sense of humor remained intact until the very end, bringing smiles—and plenty of eye rolls—to those around her, even through life’s greatest challenges.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of Mary Ann’s friends and loved ones who brought so much joy, laughter, and companionship into her life. They are especially grateful to the staff at Maris Grove for the compassion, kindness, and support they extended to Mary Ann and her family over the past four years.

Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Evelyn Kincaid, and her siblings, Brenda Giovenello and Terry Kincaid. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Drzymalski (Max), her grandson, Max and her grand dog, Jake.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Mary Ann by doing the things she loved most: spend the day making a joyful memory with your own grandchildren or loved ones, and later that evening, pour a glass of wine and raise a toast to a life well-lived.

In keeping with Mary Ann’s wishes, services will be private.
