Sarah M. Stevens, age 89, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 13, 2026.
She was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was the one of nine children of the late Mary A. (Hance) and William K. Cann. Sarah graduated from Wilmington High School in 1955.
She was a loving mother and cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Stevens; a son, David Niblett; a daughter, Sally Heald; a son-in-law Roy DeFilippis: her siblings, Kenny, Larry, Teddy, Hugh, Jimmy, Howard Cann, Jean Clauges and Mary McCann. She is survived by her children, Rachel Burge (Rod), Ramona DeFilippis, Rayfield Niblett and Anne Parke (Phil); grandchildren, Kimmy Chin (Brandon), Philip Parke, Sarah Foxwell, Tanya Murray (Justin) and great grandchildren, Brenden, Brett, Tyler, Carter, Tayla and Santina.
A viewing will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on July 21, at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, followed by a funeral at 12:30 pm. Burial will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
