William Wallace, age 79, passed away on June 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and affectionately known as “Poppy” to his cherished grandchildren, William touched countless lives through his generosity, warmth, and quiet strength.
Born to the late Earl and Elizabeth Wallace, William was raised with the values of family, integrity, and dedication that would guide him throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Earl Wallace, and Earl’s wife, Mary Theresa; and his brother-in-law, Angelo Gervasi.
William shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life and devoted wife, Bea Wallace. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
William dedicated 30 years of service to PECO, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment. He took great pride in providing for his family and earning the respect of his coworkers throughout his career.
Above all, William’s greatest joy was his family. He was a proud and loving grandfather to eleven grandchildren, all of whom adored their “Poppy.” Whether cheering them on, sharing stories, offering advice, or simply spending time together, Poppy made each grandchild feel special and deeply loved.
A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, William especially loved the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether watching a Phillies game during baseball season or cheering on the Eagles every football Sunday, he was a loyal fan through every victory and every challenge. Sharing those moments with family and friends brought him great happiness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bea Wallace; his sister, Margaret Gervasi; his brother, James (Maryann) Wallace; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and his eleven beloved grandchildren, all of whom will carry his memory and love forward.
William will be remembered for his kindness, humility, unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and the example he set through a life of honesty, compassion, and quiet strength. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
