Margaret Brown, known lovingly to all as Margie, passed away June 9th, 2026 in Wilmington, Delaware, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on October 8, 1950, in Wilmington, Delaware, Margie filled the world around her with warmth, laughter, and love for more than seven decades.
Margie built a long and dedicated career as a head teller at Delaware Trust, where she served for many years before retiring. Never one to sit still for long, she went on to work in the cafeteria for the Red Clay School District, bringing her bright personality to a whole new community. Bubbly, sweet, and genuinely funny, Margie had a way of making everyone around her feel special.
At home, Margie was in her element. She was a wonderful cook who took pride in preparing delicious meals for the people she loved. She had a gift for transforming her home with seasonal decorations, making every time of year feel like something to celebrate. When she wasn’t in the kitchen or sprucing up the house, you could find her working on a crossword puzzle, curled up with a good book, or, most of all, soaking up the sunshine by her pool or at the beach, and if you knew Margie she would never say no to a nice glass of Chardonnay. Margie was a very loving, giving woman who doted on her family, especially her great-granddaughter, Bailee.
Margie is survived by her devoted husband of almost 50 years, Ronald Brown, Sr.; her daughter, Ashley Davidson & son-in-law, Christopher; her son, Ronald Brown, Jr. and daughter-in-law Courtni; her brothers, Billy Revels, Paul Revels, Stevie Revels; and her sisters, Connie Grimes, Debbie Bendistis, and Kim Revels; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members who adored her.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 14th at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803). Friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Amy, who volunteered her time for many months to visit Margie on a weekly basis. They also extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Arden Court Memory Center, especially Dashawna, and to Amanda, Diana, Brenda, Jenn & Summer for being Margie’s personal aides and caring for her so deeply. Finally, the family thanks their many friends and loved ones for all the love and support throughout this tough journey. May Margie’s beautiful spirit live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
