Barone, Veronica A. "Ronnie"

Veronica “Ronnie” Barone, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Wilmington, Delaware on November 23, 1942, Ronnie was the beloved daughter of Bill and Yolanda Masiello. She was a proud graduate of Padua Academy and Goldey Beacom College.

Ronnie was a hardworking and devoted woman who, alongside her husband Jimmy, owned and operated several businesses in the Wilmington area. She later retired from Chase Bank after 25 years as a Private Account Manager, where she built countless friendships and was admired for her warmth, humor, and kindness.

Above all else, Ronnie’s greatest joy in life was her family. Her home was the heart of every holiday, celebration, and Sunday dinner. An absolutely legendary cook, Ronnie welcomed everyone to her table with love, laughter, and enough food to make sure no one ever left hungry. She had a gift for making people feel at home, whether they were family, friends, neighbors, or someone visiting for the very first time. Her recipes, traditions, and the memories created around her kitchen table will live on forever.

Ronnie was also the biggest supporter of her children and grandchildren. She never missed a baseball game, school concert, recital, or special event, always showing up cheering the loudest and loving the hardest. She was funny, spirited, and full of life, with a sense of humor that could light up any room. Her love was constant, unconditional, and felt deeply by everyone lucky enough to know her.

Ronnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Jimmy Barone, Sr., who passed away in 2008. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Maria Ruthardt.

She is survived by her five children: Carla; Jimmy (Tammy); Chris (Jen); Mark (Karen); and Danielle. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Julian (Riley), Alexa (Matt), Madison (Justin), Olivia (Reid), Christina (Rob), Nicole (Shawn), Gabe, Vince, and Maria; and cherished great-grandmother of Layla, Lucy, Margot, Aubrey, and Carter.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Accent Care Hospice for the care and comfort they provided Ronnie and her family during her final days.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, funeral services will be reserved for family and relatives on Thursday May 21 at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike Wilmington 19803.
