Hannah Wayne, age 97 of Glen Mills, PA formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
She was the daughter of the late Trude Loeb and Robert Ullman. Hannah graduated from Scarsdale High School, Scarsdale, NY and graduated with an associates degree as a medical technician from Hunter College, NY, NY. During her college years she met the love of her life, Peter Wayne.
Peter and Hannah moved to Wilmington in the early 50’s. While Peter worked for the Dupont Company, Hannah worked for Dr. Warren in Wilmington for many years. They soon started a family, making their lives complete.
She was a member of the Embroiders Guild of America (EGA) and the American Needlepoint Guild (ANG). Hannah was also a member of the Dupont Country Club, being a member of the Nine Holer’s and the Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was involved in many circles and bible studies. She volunteered for over 20 years at the Wilmington Flower Market.
Her husband of 43 years, Peter J. Wayne, passed away in 1995. Hannah is survived by her two son, Peter Wayne (Julie Grothe) of Minneapolis, MN and Robert Wayne (Kelly) of Wilmington, DE and two grandsons, Ethan Jace and Samuel Robert (Caroleena Goldman) Wayne.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 19 at 11:00am at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA. Burial will be held privately.
