Llorey Reyes-Buni, 55, of Elkton, Maryland, formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away on April 23, 2026, at her residence.
Llorey earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cebu State College in 1991 and later received her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2021. A dedicated and compassionate nurse, she specialized in nephrology and ambulatory care and devoted her career to serving others. She worked at Greenville Hospital, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, DaVita Dialysis, Fresenius Medical Care, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Wilmington, Delaware, and Perry Point, Maryland.
In recognition of her excellence in nursing, Llorey received Certificates of Excellence from the Veterans Affairs Maryland Health Care System in 2022 and 2023 and was honored with the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing, and Garuda Martial Arts, where she practiced Muay Thai.
Llorey found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She cherished her dogs, Vito and Azula, and lovingly remembered her past companions, Jessa, Nikki, Mufasa, Monica, and Hillary. She enjoyed Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, Chinese food, Muay Thai training, Thai festivals, watching Gut Check events, and quiet moments of reflection while watching movies.
She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Emeterio Buni.
Llorey is survived by her loving husband, Joseph B. Buni; her daughter, Sara Reyes Buni; her sister, Mylie Reyes Lim; and her aunt, Flora Abello.
A service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware 19808. Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a prayer service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place privately.
