Susan C. McKinney, age 75, of Wilmington, DE died peacefully on April 3, 2026 at Accent Hospice Wilmington, DE.
She was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was the daughter of the late Ray (Liebman) and Solomon Gebstein. Susan graduated from Wilmington Friends School and Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA.
She worked in secretarial and accounting positions for various companies in Wilmington.
Susan enjoyed being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron of Ruth Chapter #19, Wilmington, DE. She also served as Grand Martha from 2000 to 2001 and Grand Ruth from 2007 to 2008. First and foremost, Susan was extremely devoted to her furry children, including her dog and the numerous cats that chose her to be their mom. Susan was a voracious reader. In her younger years, Susan was an avid boater and enjoyed being on the water whenever possible.
Her husband R. Dale McKinney passed away in 2006. Susan is also preceded in death by her dog Butch and many cats: Pumpkin, Princess, Moose and Zoey to name a few. She leaves behind her, furbaby: Ash McKinney and friends: Donna, Bert and Olivia Hiddemen, Wilmington DE and Ginny Leach, Green Lane, PA

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike Wilmington, DE. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7:00pm followed by a memorial service. Burial will be held privately at Deihl’s Church of the Brethren - Martinsburg, PA.
