Jean Andrews, 90, of Claymont, Delaware, passed away on April 4, 2026. A graduate of Chester High School in 1953, Jean went on to work at Danneman’s Fabrics in Chester and later served as a preschool aide at Chester Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was also a beloved member of the choir. As a homemaker, she poured her considerable warmth and creativity into her household and those she loved.
Jean had a passion for sewing and reading, and she treasured her regular walks at Bellevue Park with dear friends Ann and Linda.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, Robert Jr.; and her twin sister, Joan. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Quinn (Robert), her daughter Carol Hauser (Paul), her daughter-in-law Tanya Andrews (Robert Jr.), six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Services for Jean will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 17, 2026 at Chester Bethel United Methodist Church followed. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chester Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Claymont Library, Claymont, Delaware.
