Catherine (Cat) Howard, 34 years old of Birdsboro Pa, daughter of Cathleen Howard and Thomas Howard Jr. and Chloe Crecco just 5 months old, daughter of Catherine Howard and Timothy Crecco have both departed this life Monday March 30th 2026 in a tragic series of events in their home in Birdsboro Pennsylvania. She is also survived by a brother, Thomas Howard.
Catherine received her early education at Wilmington Jr. Academy, which she attended from the age of two months old all the way through the 8th grade. She then went on to graduate from William Penn H.S. in New Castle, DE. Catherine continued he education at Goldey Beacom College graduating with a BS in Finance and then earning her MBA with a concentration in International Business Management, also from Goldey.
After graduating, Catherine went on to work for WSFS in underwriting before she decided to pursue her love of teaching children and joined Teach for America. She then taught Jr. H.S. math in Charlotte NC for 3 years. During that time, she accepted Jesus into her life and was Baptized at First Alliance Church in Hockessin. With a new light in her heart and a passion for helping others Catherine made several missionary trips to work with children in other countries and finally started her own foundation in the Dominican Republic giving children with no access to school a place to learn and grow.
Spending time away doing what she could for others she finally returned home to work for Gateway Charter School then went back to WSFS and was currently employed by Grow America.
Catherine was very outgoing and over the years had created a large network of friends and family and she devoted herself to maintaining these relationships and stayed especially close to her mom, her dad, and her brother. She had also found time to start a local coupon group where she was able to shop for and provide many women in her community with household supplies at a greatly discounted price.
In September of 2022 Catherine was joined in holy matrimony to Timothy Crecco and from this union three beautiful children were born, Olivia, Roman, and Chloe. She was a very proud and loving mother who cherished her children more than anything else in this world. No matter how much was on her plate Catherine always made sure her family had enough of her time and love plus a little extra.
Catherine and Miss Chloe will be missed and mourned beyond words that cannot fathom the depth of our loss. Only the Lord knows why tragedies like this happen. Those left behind are left to wonder why and try to make sense of it. As we hold their memories and the love we have for them in our hearts, please pray for her husband Tim and the kids and for God to give him the strength and guidance to carry on.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Phillips Lutheran Church, 5320 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where fellowship will follow. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Catherine’s foundation, Foundation of Education Art God Love Enrichment Service
