Nancy R. Pease (Lucas), 77, of Newark, DE, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday, March 27, 2026, at her home.
She was born May 26, 1948, in Newark, DE to the late Frank W. and Ruth V. (Kerr) Lucas. Nancy graduated from Newark High School in 1967 and later earned her Barber license after graduating from Wilmington Barber College. She enjoyed the simple things in life, like a good cup of coffee and eating a Red Baron pizza. She had fun playing Yahtzee and Scrabble in her younger years and loved her dogs Mandy, Atlas and Topaz. During her time at Marydale, she enjoyed quiet walks around the community early in the morning and working on word search puzzles.
Nancy is survived by her two sisters, Betty (Lucas) Graves and husband Ron, of Punta Gorda, FL; and Lois Lucas of Bear, DE. She is also survived by one nephew, Chris Weaver and wife Miriam of Galveston, IN, two great nieces, Tabitha and husband Jacob Byers, of Galveston, IN and Cami and husband Lee Beachy of Kokomo, IN. One great nephew Gabriel Byers and two great nieces, Emery and Violette Byers also survive her. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruth Lucas.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
Nancy’s family would like to thank the staff and residents of Marydale Retirement Village especially Esther Lovlie, for their friendships and care of Nancy during her final years.
