Myra Joan Keisler, 78, of Claymont, Delaware, passed away on March 17, 2026. Born on July 28, 1947, in Glen Rock, N.J., Myra was a woman who found magic in the everyday and shared that joy with everyone she knew.
A devoted sister, aunt, and a dear friend to her many cousins, Myra was known for her spirited heart and her deep compassion for all living things—especially her beloved cats. She was a woman of adventure, whether it was the excitement of a spontaneous “mystery ride” to an unknown destination, a successful afternoon of shopping, or a sunny day spent cheering in the stands at a Wilmington Blue Rocks game. These moments of simple, pure fun were the hallmarks of a life well-lived.
Myra is survived by her sisters, Lillian (Keisler) Walton and Deborah Ann Keisler; her nephew, James (J.R.) Walton and his fiancée, Amy Pardee; and her niece, Megan (Walton) Kendrick and her husband, Stu. Her legacy of joy continues through her great-nephew and great-niece, Maxwell and Violet Kendrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Solly and Irene (MacDonald) Keisler; her sister, Elizabeth MacDonald; and her brother-in-law, James Walton.
A service to honor Myra’s life and legacy will be held on April 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Rivercross Fellowship, located at 77 McCullough Dr #2, New Castle, DE.
In honor of Myra’s lifelong love for animals, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to an animal shelter of your choice. Myra’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her spirit will be felt every time a mystery road is taken or a game is played.
