Waslick, Robert H.

Robert H. Waslick, age 94, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away surrounded by his family on March 30, 2026. Bob lived a long and meaningful life defined by his love of family, dedication to education, and passion for coaching and community.

Bob was the beloved husband of Carole Lee Waslick, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He is survived by his daughters: Robin Hession (Mike) and family of Middleboro, Massachusetts; Lorin Richter (Carlos) of Eagleville, Pennsylvania; Jessica Persoleo (Dave) of Wilmington, Delaware; Toby Pierce of Portland, Oregon; and Beth Gallaher of Clayton, Delaware. He was a proud grandfather to Carson Richter, Ella Persoleo, and Henry Persoleo, and a great-grandfather to Caleb Hession and Jaxson Richter.

He is also survived by his brother, William Waslick of Vermont, and was predeceased by his brother Frank Waslick. Bob cherished his many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Bob grew up in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, the son of Frank and Margaret Waslick. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Lock Haven University and went on to receive his master’s degree in Administration from Temple University and principalship at Cheyney University.

He devoted his professional life to education, serving as a teacher, assistant principal, and most joyfully, as a coach. Bob coached multiple sports—often more than one in the same season—and left a lasting impact on countless students and athletes. One of his proudest achievements was leading the 1969 Penncrest High School basketball team to a championship season, setting a record that still stands today.

In retirement, Bob pursued many passions, including fishing, art and all Philadelphia sports, but found his greatest joy in training and racing harness horses. Throughout every stage of his life, he built lasting friendships that became like family. Above all, Bob’s greatest devotion was to his immediate and extended family, who were the true center of his life.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
