Barker, Carole

In Loving Memory of Carole Barker

Carole Barker, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and joyful memories. Born to William R. Faunce and Evelyn A. Faunce, Carole grew up with a strong sense of family and faith that guided her throughout her life.

Carole graduated from A. I. DuPont High School and built a rich and varied career marked by hard work and a personal touch. Over the years, she contributed her talents to Westvaco, as a Real Estate Mortgage Officer, worked with the University of Delaware, and Delaware Park, earning the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of those she served. She approached every role with humility, reliability, and a warm smile.

For 67 years, Carole shared a remarkable marriage with her beloved husband, Richard C. Barker, a partnership grounded in deep affection, mutual support, and a lifetime of memories. Together, they built a close-knit family that was always at the center of Carole’s heart. She cherished simple joys—lazy days at the beach, the excitement of travel, and, most of all, spending time surrounded by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Carole is survived by her sons, Richard S. Barker and David W. Barker; her Daughter-in-Law Julie K. Barker: her grandson, Jeremy D. Barker; and her brother, William Faunce and Sister-in-Law Susan Faunce. Her love and guidance will continue to live on in those who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family will honor her life at a service and celebration of life to be held at a later date. Details will be shared with friends and extended family once plans are finalized.

Carole will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the gentle way she made every person feel valued. Her laughter and warmth will be dearly missed and forever treasured.
