Meehan, Adam

Adam Richard Meehan, Sr., 41, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Adam was a Doctor of Pharmacy who truly loved his work. Over his 25-year career with CVS, he built lasting relationships with coworkers and customers, helping others and making a difference in their lives.

A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, Adam rarely missed a game. If you walked into his home, you could always find one playing on the TV. However, nothing brought him more joy than watching his children in their sports. Whether he was spending weekends at the ice rink, cheering from the baseball field, attending recitals, or simply playing catch in the yard, Adam was always present and full of pride. Being a father was his greatest joy.

Adam was a true family man who cherished time spent together. From making memories in Wildwood NJ, to cozy family movie nights in the living room, he made it a priority to create meaningful moments despite life’s busy agenda.

He shared a deep and loving bond with his wife, Shannon, his partner of 20 years. They were true soulmates and best friends, known for their laughter and the joy they found in each other. Adam often spoke of Shannon’s strength, love, and unwavering dedication.

Adam is survived by his beloved wife, Shannon (Dougherty) Meehan; his children, AJ Meehan, Ethan Meehan, Delaney Meehan, Erin Meehan, and Maisie Meehan; his mother, Lois (Farrelly) Meehan; his father, Hugh Meehan; his stepmother, Donna Meehan; his brothers, Hughie Meehan (Michele) and Tim Meehan; his sister, Allison Cook (James); and his stepsister, Jennifer Cooke. He is also survived by his in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803).
