Masker, Montana Elizabeth

Montana Elizabeth Masker, 17, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2026. Montana brought light and energy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Montana was a student at First State Military Academy where she proudly held the rank of Captain. She was known for her leadership, dedication, and the strong presence she brought to her school community. Montana was lovingly known to her Marine Instructors as “Big Sky.”

Montana also worked at Mission BBQ, where she greeted every customer like a friend and made people feel welcome the moment they walked through the door.

She will always be remembered for her vibrant personality, her outgoing spirit, and the way she could brighten any room simply by being in it. She was ambitious, goal driven, and a natural leader. Someone wrote the following about Montana “Your big eyes, your bright smile, and your glowing personality. You were sassy yet passionate, stern at times yet kind and one of the most beautiful souls anyone could know and love.” This truly embodies exactly who Montana was.

Montana knew and loved God. A verse that she loved and lived by was Philippians 4:13. She knew she could do all things through Christ.

Montana is survived by her loving parents, Amy and Jason Masker, and her brothers Cody Masker and Johnathan Syva, her grandparents Hope and Greg Schock, her best friend Allyssa Mohr and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will always remember the amazing young woman she was.

A viewing will be held Friday, March 20, 2026 beginning at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cranston Heights Fire Company. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 9:00 AM at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home (Kirkwood Highway Location), burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, with a reception afterward at the Cranston Heights Fire Company.
