Ralph A. Thomas, a resident of Cokesbury Village in Hockessin, DE passed peacefully on February 15th at the age of 94. He was born in Blakely, PA and grew up in Dickson City, PA. Ralph was the son of the late Ralph A. and Mildred F. Thomas.
He was a graduate of Central HS in Scranton, PA and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
Ralph was an active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church for 64 years and served on various church committees.
He retired after 35 years of service with Astra Zeneca and predecessor companies. He had previously worked for Gulf Oil Corp and served in the U.S. Army, Chemical Corp.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maurine. They were lovingly married for 67 years. He is survived by daughters Susan Shenko (Bill) of Keller, TX and Janet Chaney (Clay) of Kennett Square, PA and grandchildren Karen Cook (Darren), Thomas Chaney (Christina), Laura Brinkman (Justin), Kimberly Cipollina-Chaney (Rebecca). He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren Emma, Bryson, Cambrie, Chase, Brooks & Carter.
Ralph enjoyed music, literature and travel.
Services will be held privately.
