Louis Monteferrante passed away in Wilmington, Delaware on January 31, 2026 at the age of 72. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised by two loving parents in a calm, warm, and nurturing home. Family was very important as well as education. Louis earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in education from Temple University. He became a well-liked and respected teacher of business law and English. He was a director of a business school. Louis was very intelligent, not only in academic areas, but he had a vast knowledge and interest in many other subjects like sports and current events.
Louis had a close relationship with his sister, Theresa. As they became adults, their unbreakable sibling bond deepened as they were now friends and confidants as well as brother and sister.
After Louis met and married Patty, they started their own family. The birth of their daughter, Jeanette Michelle, brought great joy to all. The measure of a man is how he acts during the worst of times, not the best of times. When Jeanette became ill, Louis was a full and complete participant in her care. Sadly, Jeanette passed away. The profound loss left an invisible scar on them that will never heal.
Louis faced his final days with a sharp, clear mind. He showed amazing courage, grace, and dignity. Even though he was near death, he was worried about others, not himself.
Louis was a good, honorable man, - kind, honest, loyal, caring, and intelligent. Over his lifetime, he was a loving son, brother, husband, father, friend, and teacher.
Louis’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Patricia, his devoted sister, Theresa, and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Catholic Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, Delaware 19807.
