Victoria Catherine Twardowski passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 102. She was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Catherine Cislo and was raised in Wilmington, Delaware.
Victoria was a graduate of P.S. duPont High School and Goldey-Beacom School. She was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Parish, where her faith remained an important part of her life. She was also active in parish organizations and volunteer efforts.
Victoria met the love of her life, Louis F. Twardowski, while he was serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. They were married on Thanksgiving weekend in 1942 and shared nearly 78 years of marriage. Together they built a loving home and raised their family in Wilmington, where Victoria was known for her warmth, hospitality, and devotion to those she loved.
She and Louis enjoyed bowling together for many years and later shared time at their beach home near the Indian River, where family and friends gathered often. Victoria cherished family celebrations and milestones and took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Victoria was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Florence Sawyer; her eldest daughter, Cathleen Earl; her son-in-law, Edward Pochomis; and her beloved husband, Louis.
She is survived by her son, Henry “Skip” Twardowski, and his wife, Bethany; her daughter, Cynthia Pochomis; and her three grandchildren, Nathan Pochomis (Kristen), Natalie Pochomis and David Twardowski (Jamie). Her great grandchildren Evan, Emily, Eric and Eliana Pochomis and Connor and Cassidy Twardowski, who were a constant source of joy in her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 809 S. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19805, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Victoria’s memory to St Jude’s or St. Elizabeth Parish.
