Fortuna, Sharon

Sharon Fortuna, 60, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on January 2, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence and warmth (and sass) filled every room she entered. She lived her life with passion, conviction, and unwavering loyalty to the people she loved. She gave of herself completely, always putting family and friends first and ensuring those around her felt cared for, protected, and supported.

She shared a deep and enduring marriage with her husband, Al, built on faith, honesty, laughter, sarcasm, and devotion. Sharon was a fiercely devoted mother to her son, Anthony, who was the center of her world. Every decision she made was guided by her love for him and her desire to give him strength, stability, and a full life. Sharon was deeply grounded in her faith, which shaped the way she lived and loved. Her beliefs gave her strength through life’s challenges and guided her compassion for others. She also lived with strong convictions and was never afraid to speak her mind. She believed in showing up fully and authentically, and she did so without apology.

Above all, Sharon will be remembered for her love. Love for her family, her friends, and the life she built. Her legacy lives on through the many relationships she nurtured and the countless lives she touched. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Anna DiSanto.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Al Fortuna; her son, Anthony Fortuna; her brother, Raymond DiSanto, and his wife, Bonnie; her niece, Danielle Shanahan, and her husband, Christopher; her great-nephew and great-niece, Landon and Sophie; her dog and companion, Dobby; and her many friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00-11:45 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 4701 Weldin Road, Wilmington, Delaware 19803, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Burial will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Sharon’s memory to Providence Animal Center or the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health in Abington.
