Winner, Thomas P. “Tommy”

Thomas P. “Tommy” Winner, age 78, of North East, Maryland, formerly of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 15, 2025.

Born and raised in Wilmington, Tommy was the son of the late Bernice Hahn Winner and Paul T. Winner. He graduated from Brown Vocational Technical School in 1965.

Following high school, Tommy began his career with the DuPont Company at the Edgemoor Plant. After one year, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to DuPont, where he worked for more than 40 years. He retired in 2005 as a Chemical Operator.

Tommy enjoyed hunting, crabbing, and fishing, and he especially loved time spent outdoors.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Pauline N. (Nepi) Winner; two children, Christine Hughes (Kevin) and Tom Winner (Andrea); and four grandchildren, J.T. (Mitchell), Alexis, Joel, and Mason. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by three siblings, Bernice Major, Paul Winner, and Edward Winner.

A committal service with military honors will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware.
