Jo Ann Durham passed away on December 21, 2025, with family by her side. She resided with her daughter, Karen Monaco, and Jim Durnan. Jo Ann was born on April 30, 1936, in Easton, Maryland, to Mary Frances and Maurice Sewell. She graduated from St. Michaels High School and Goldey-Beacom College.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon F. Durham, Jr.; her sister, Ginger Jackson; and her stepfather, William Haddaway.
She leaves behind her grandchildren, Frank Monaco (Lauren), Adrienne Phelps (Mark), and Theresa Monaco; as well as her great-grandchildren, Taylor Phelps, Owen Phelps, Ryan Monaco, and Jack Monaco. Jo Ann is also survived by her brother, Bill Sewell (Alice), and many nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann was a collector of antiques and old friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.
