Anne Loretta Mezzatesta passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, surrounded by her family and devoted dogs. She was 87 years old.
Her husband of 39 years, John J. Mezzatesta, Sr., passed away in August 1995. He served in the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient.
Anne and John raised four children: Anne Mezzatesta-Hearn; John Mezzatesta, Jr. (Jennifer), Carol Mezzatesta-Blevins (Wiley) and Amy Blankenship (John).
Anne was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to: Lara Turner (Kevin), Debbie Faulkner (Shane), Ashley Dahl (Bennett), Joseph & Sawyer Mezzatesta, Nicholas & Victoria Blankenship, Isabelle & Wiley Blevins III, Nicole Turner, Anthony & Brianna Faulkner, Luna & Owen Dahl.
Anne worked for Wilmington General Hospital and Greenville Country Club. She was also a longtime member and volunteer for AA and Recovery Inc. Anne and John loved dancing, trips to the beach, garage sales and hosting holiday celebrations with homemade meatballs. Anne was a proud Granny for all her grandchildren’s activities and sports.
Anne was preceded in death by her daughter Anne Mezzatesta-Hearn and siblings Kathy Adams, Joseph Gannon and Mary Testa.
Committal Service: Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 am, Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
