Myrtle Anthony, age 83, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at Ivy Gables.
Born and raised in Maryland, Myrtle devoted her life to caring for others. After attending nursing school at Wilmington Memorial Hospital, she embarked on a career in nursing that spanned more than 40 years at Christiana Care. Her compassion and dedication touched countless patients and colleagues throughout the decades.
Myrtle was a faithful member of Heritage Presbyterian Church, where she served on the Mercy Ministry committee. Through this work, she brought comfort and companionship to the homebound and those in long-term care facilities, embodying her lifelong commitment to service and kindness.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Anthony, four nieces, and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Walter Anthony, and her brother, Ben Anthony.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, where friends and family are invited to pay their respects beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
Myrtle’s legacy of compassion, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
