John James Brady, Sr., aka “Bam”, age 76, passed way peacefully after a long illness on November 11, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lorraine; his son, John James Jr.; and his 3 grandchildren: Aidan, Abigail & Ashlyn. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack & Eleanor Brady. John was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and relocated to Wilmington, Delaware in his adulthood. He served in the United States Marine Corps where he saw active duty during the Vietnam Conflict and was a survivor of the Tet Offensive. He retired after working 30 years from A.I. Dupont Children’s Hospital as a purchasing agent.
John was a motorcycle enthusiast who was part of multiple organizations before cofounding Stars, Stripes, Bars and Pipes, a group that supports active military, veterans and first responders. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, gardening, crafts such as shirt pressing, and spending a lot of time with his grandkids. Anyone who knew him could tell you he was very passionate about his grandkids. Throughout all of his activities and encounters, he is well remembered for his unique humor, kindness and golden heart that he wore proudly.
There is no funeral planned, though in respect to his wishes in life there will be a Celebration of Life for close family and friends after the holidays.
