Dozier, Douglas Scott (Anastasios)

Douglas Scott (Anastasios) Dozier, age 42, of Hockessin, Delaware, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at AccentCare Hospice at ChristianaCare Hospital in Newark, Delaware.

A 2003 graduate of McKean High School, Doug continued his studies at the University of Delaware from 2006 to 2008, focusing on International Relations and Anthropology.

Doug built a diverse career marked by dedication and service. Most recently, he worked as a Campaign Adviser and Political Consultant specializing in campaign operations and security. From May 2021 to January 2022, he served as Director of City–Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, at Blexit Pennsylvania. During his career, he worked in tree service and landscaping, and was well known as the “Grill Master” at the annual Greek Festival.

An active member of many organizations, Doug participated in Boy Scouts, Future Farmers of America, the International Club and ROTC at the University of Delaware, and the Orthodox Christian Fellowship. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the New Kuban Education and Welfare Association, and was proud of his involvement with the Republican Party.

Doug loved the outdoors and was happiest when camping, hiking, or exploring new places. He had a deep appreciation for music, history, photography, and genealogy. He also loved cars, off-roading adventures, and animals—especially his beloved dogs, Brook and Marley.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmitt and Henrietta Dozier, Buryl and Dorothy Lawson, and his uncle, Harold Lawson.

Doug is survived by his parents, Bruce Dozier and Dorothy Dozier, and by many loving family members including Nancy Dozier, Quay Miller, Laura Dozier, Diana Dozier, Glenn and Paula Dozier, and Michael Lawson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, 2300 W. Huntington Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808. Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

Parking at the church is limited; when parking in the neighborhood, please be mindful of residents’ property and driveways.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, 2300 W. Huntington Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808.
