William Francis “Franny” Emory, age 81, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
He was born in Wilmington and raised in both Berlin, MD and New Castle, DE. William graduated from the former Howard Brown Vocational School.
He spent a majority of his career with Lowes Home Improvement in various positions including, contractor sales manager, retail sales manager and store manager.
William enjoyed watching football, especially Washington’s football team, woodwork and he was a Civil War buff.
His wife of 44 years, Donna Rae (Santillo) Emory died in 2022. William is survived by his son, Michael Emory and his wife Felicia; step-son, Brad Ventura; three siblings, Richard Emory, Beverly Moudy and Wayne Emory along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew who will also cherish his memories. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Sweeney, step-son, Phillip “Scott” Ventura; granddaughter, Erin Ventura along with his many siblings.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 17, from 10-11 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
