Carolyn H. Micolucci, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025. Born to Marian Swayze (née Walkup) and Bronson Hays in Media, PA, she was the eldest of five children. She was a proud member of the last graduating class of Media High School.
Carolyn worked for many years as a corporate paralegal, first at Beneficial National Bank, later retiring from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.
She married George Micolucci, and together they shared three children and two grandchildren. They enjoyed skiing, vacationing in Wildwood and Orlando, traveling to Europe, and spending time at their beach house in Lewes, Delaware. Carolyn and George lived many years in West Chester, PA before moving back to Delaware.
She was a devoted member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, was a member of the handbell choir, and could always be found cleaning up after every event. She loved playing with her grandchildren, her grand-dogs, gardening, angels, the color blue, and working out at the YMCA.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 54 years, George Sr.; daughter Lura Taub (Richard); daughter Marisa Micolucci; and son George Micolucci Jr. (Kimberly), as well as grandchildren Layla and Louis Micolucci, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Richard Hays. She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Cherylann; and her brothers, Bronson “Spike” and Kenneth.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8th, at 12 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1120 Darley Road, Wilmington, DE 19810. Interment will be private.
