Alice L. Reed, age 100, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025.She was the daughter of Domenico and Serafina Landi, who had immigrated from Lucca, Italy in 1921.Alice was born and raised in Richmond, Va., where she graduated from John Marshall High School and the University of Richmond.In 1949 she married Joseph C. Reed and moved to Charleston, W. Va.In 1958 the family was transferred to Wilmington, Del. where she lived for the rest of her life.
Alice was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, active in a local PEO chapter, and worked part time at the Friendly Gift Shop for over 20 years.Alice loved people and always made them feel welcome.
Alice was pre-deceased by Joe, her husband of 67 years, her siblings Elia and Ed, and a grandchild. She is survived by two children, Rosalyn and Tom, two grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Services will be private.
