Thomas Patrick “Straw” Strawbridge, age 68, of Wilmington, DE., died on October 11th 2025 at home.
Tom graduated from Delcastle High School.
Tom spent his life working for Conrail, which became Norfolk Southern, and worked alongside his brother at Five Points Pizza. He also drove the senior citizen bus for the New Castle Senior Center.
Tom’s hobbies were fishing, crabbing, working on his 57 Chevy, watching his grandkids play sports, making people laugh and being the “mayor” of the neighborhood. Not a day went by that you didn’t see him outside rolling down the sidewalk talking to all of his neighbors who were really some of his best friends, their children included. He will be missed greatly by them all.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Maryann Strawbridge, his brothers Robert and James Strawbridge, and his sister Nancy Hamm.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cynthia (Cindy) Strawbridge, his daughter Jaqueline Strawbridge Roskos, and his son Patrick (Shannon) Strawbridge all of Wilmington, De. Tom had six grandchildren; Gabriel, Emma, Ryan, Lucas, Christian and Aubrey who he adored more than the world. He took great pleasure in teasing and taunting them into being mischievous. He also loved his inherited or adopted granddaughter Juliana Day, who he referred to as his “Baby girl”. Juliana called for her “Straw” every time she came outside. Tom is also survived by his sister Cathy (Ronald) White of Wilmington, De. Tom has numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, as well as several of his own cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations to the Delaware Humane Society or the S.P.C.A since Tom had a love for animals.
Burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
