William D. Wilson, age 46, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, with his wife Tina and their children by his side.
A big-hearted husband, father, and friend, Bill was born in Wilmington on August 17, 1979, to parents William H. Wilson and Kathleen T. Wilson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Tina Wilson; their children, Ella (13) and Nathan (12); his mother, Kathleen T. Wilson, father, William H. Wilson; and his brother, Michael Wilson, wife Shirley. He is preceded in death by his sister Stacey Wilson.
Bill graduated from Concord High School in 1998 and went on to earn a degree in Business Management from Wilmington University in 2002. In 2006, he founded Wilson Landscaping, Inc. in his garage with just a single lawnmower and one leaf blower. His dedication and entrepreneurial spirit helped grow the business into a successful and well-respected local company. He took great pride in his work. Bill had many trusted employees and loyal customers which he valued also as friends.
Bill loved spending time with his family more than anything. He was happiest on his 35-foot Formula boat, affectionately named “Daddy’s Big Green Boat.” He enjoyed fishing with his son Nathan, making bracelets with Ella to support cancer charities, driving his speedboat, spending time near the water and watching or playing sports. In recent years, he and his family spent cherished time together in North Wildwood at their shore place, making memories with their “White Sails Family.” Bill often said that his greatest accomplishment in life was his marriage to Tina and their children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. Visitation begins at 10 am followed by mass at 12 noon.
