Napolski, Joan

Joan C. Seaman Napolski, age 89 of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2025.

Born to the late Herbert & Lillian Wardell, she was raised in Wilmington and graduated from William Penn High School in 1954. Shortly thereafter she married Denmore J. Seaman. They were married for 20 years, raising their beloved children David, Lori Gay (predeceased) and Penny, until his passing in 1977. Later in life she married Joseph Napolski, with whom she shared 29 years of companionship. They enjoyed cooking, square dancing, camping and traveling together until his passing in 2013. She was a devoted wife and a constant source of love and support to her family.

She went to work at the University of Delaware Student Center in 1970 where she enjoyed her career there until she retired in 1999.

She was a dedicated member of several churches throughout her life including Bethany Baptist Church, Ogletown Baptist Church and Concord Liberty Presbyterian. Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life.

She is survived by her son, David W. Seaman (Linda) and daughter, Penny Meyer (Wayne), grandchildren Lori Lee Rosario (Ismael), Michelle Lehman, Matthew, Mark & Meghan Meyer. Also, her great-grandchildren Laurel Gudzelak, Daniel Dorman & Xavier Rosario.

The family wants to express their deep appreciation and thanks to the staff at Rockland Place where she resided, for their kind caring service and support of Joan and her family during the past few years. Also, a special thank you to Vitas Healthcare, Hospice services for their kindness and loving care provided to Joan and support to her family during the past few months.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 10-11 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808, followed by a memorial service. The burial ceremony will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19805.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Joan’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or alz.org.
