Allan Van Blerkom, 81, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away Wednesday, October 1st, 2025.
Allan was born in Chester, Pennsylvania and graduated from Swarthmore High School in 1962 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in 1966. He found his calling teaching mathematics at Bartram High School in Philadelphia.
Allan had a passion for theater and served proudly at the Candlelight Dinner Music Theater in Wilmington, Delaware as both an actor and director. His favorite role was as Tevye, in Fiddler on the Roof.
Allan is predeceased by his father, Walter, his mother, Ethel, and his youngest brother, Fred. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, his brother, Malcolm (Diane), two nieces and one nephew.
A funeral service will be held at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware on Monday, October 6th. Visitation will begin at 130PM and service will begin at 2PM. Burial will be at Lombardy Cemetery immediately following the service.
