Alice Ann Ritzinger, born April 19, 1941, in Reamstown, Pennsylvania, to Mark Shober and Doris Redig, passed away on August 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Alice was raised in Aldan, Pennsylvania where she attended Lansdowne-Aldan High School and Pierce Business College. Alice married the “boy next door,” Lee Ritzinger, and together they built a life in Wilmington, Delaware raising four children and operating a successful graphic arts studio, Visual Arts. When the studio was sold, Alice continued her career in marketing at MBNA until her retirement.
Alice was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, and “Gammy.” She never missed a sporting event, birthday, or family milestone, and her presence was always a source of love and encouragement. Beautiful on the outside and even more radiant on the inside, she had a gift for making everyone around her feel special. An avid decorator, Alice poured her creativity into her home, making it not only gorgeous, but also warm and welcoming. Friends and family alike were drawn to the comfort and beauty she created, and her home was always a gathering place filled with joy. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Mark Shober, and by her beloved husband, Lee Ritzinger.
Alice is survived by her sister, Janet Ariza and her four children: Lisa (Jeff) Bollinger, Lore (Dave) Orendorf, Kristen (Kelly) Anderson, and Brian (Laura) Ritzinger, as well as eight grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy: Emily, Andrew (Mia), Caroline Bollinger, Zachary Orendorf, Mason and Molly Anderson, and Matthew and Amber Ritzinger. Alice leaves behind a legacy of love, strength in adversity and kindness that will continue to inspire her family and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Services will be held privately.
