Sevasti “Soula” Diamond, age 82, passed away on July 8, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Volos, Greece on March 10th, 1943, Soula was the oldest of three sisters. She was married to Anthony Diamond for 51 years.
Soula was a master seamstress at The Fashion Shop, Richard-Donald Furs, and Irinis Bridal Shop in Wilmington. She was married at age 22 before immigrating to the US for a better life for her future family and herself. Anyone who knew Soula knows she always put her family first. She was an intensely dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening flowers and vegetables.
She is survived by her sons Athanasios (Deborah) and Ioannis Diamond; her grandchildren Matthew, Kayla, Thomas, and John; her great-grandson Lucas; her sisters Mirsini (Evaggelos) Polyzos and Costantia (Gennaro) Cupiraggi; her sister-in-law Ioanna Pitsirini; and her nieces, nephews, and other numerous family members and friends.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19806 where a service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
