Florence T. Bennett (née Cuomo), age 91, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Wilmington, Florence lived a full and meaningful life dedicated to her family and her work.
Florence was deeply involved in the food service industry throughout her career and at one time proudly owned the Deli Plus. Her dedication and warmth touched everyone she met.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leah DeRocili and Ray Matusiak; her grandson Russell Burns and his wife Stephanie Burns; and her great-grandsons Colin and Liam Burns. Florence is also survived by her brother, Ronald Cuomo, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kevin DeRocili.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Faithful Friends, 165 Airport Road, New Castle, DE 19720, in Florence’s memory.
Florence will be remembered for her loving spirit and the strong family ties she cherished throughout her 91 years. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will follow at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.
