White, Beverly Ann (Hamilton)

Beverly Ann (Hamilton) White, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025.

Born in South Wilmington on April 14, 1936, Beverly was the fifth of eight children. She graduated from Wilmington High School. She and her husband, James F. White Sr., also one of eight siblings, started their own family at an early age. Beverly worked full-time at Sears and later at Discover Card Services as an account manager. Her husband, Jim, was a career policeman with the Wilmington Police Department. They lived in Wilmington while raising their four children. After Jim’s retirement, they moved out of the city and built a home in a quiet neighborhood near Port Penn, Delaware.

Beverly always put her family first and was admired for her patience, wisdom, and kind nature. Her children will forever be grateful for her love, guidance, and unwavering support.

She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, watching hummingbirds, and cooking for special occasions and holidays. Beverly loved spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her favorite place was Dewey Beach, Delaware, where she and Jim had a cottage. Whenever she had the chance, she could be found on the beach, soaking up the sun with a good book.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Elva (Ford) Hamilton; her siblings Ruth, Leonard, Ray, and Jane; her husband, James F. White Sr.; and her son, Glenn E. White. She is survived by her sister, Lois, and brothers, Kenneth and Wayne Hamilton; her children, James F. White Jr., Leonard A. White, and Dorren Cavazzini; her grandchildren, Courtney and Jared Frost, James and Gregory White, Glen White, and Bekah Eljoundi; and her great-grandchildren, Eva, Luca, and Isla Eljoundi — along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The burial was private. A celebration of life is planned for later this year.

The family would like to thank the assisted living staff at Millcroft Living in Newark and the team from Compassionate Care Hospice for their care and kindness.
