Rolph, Florence Beaumont

Florence Beaumont Rolph, age 91, passed away at Christiana Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on May 1, 2025.

Florence was born in Upper Darby, PA, to the late William and Mary Beaumont. She grew up in Wilmington and graduated from A.I. du Pont High School in 1951. Florence began her career at E.J. Hollingworth Company, where she worked for ten years until her children were born. In 1954, she married her high school sweetheart. The following year, she spent a year in France while her husband was drafted during the Korean War.

Florence was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a strong woman with a loving, generous spirit. Florence enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping, socializing, caring for others, and traveling to Rehoboth, Myrtle Beach, and Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Elwood Rolph Jr., in 2006; her stepfather, Harry Reinhart; and her three brothers: Farwell, William, and James Beaumont. She is survived by her two daughters, Renee Bard (Mark) and Karen Clark (Kenneth); four grandchildren, Michael Bard (Allison), Ryan Clark, Michele Morgan (Bryan), and Brian Bard; five great-grandchildren, Jamie, Jesse, and Vivian Bard, and Benjamin and Theodore Morgan; and two nieces, Patricia Beaumont and Candie Cubbage (Brent).

A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Newark United Methodist Church, 69 E. Main Street, Newark, DE, where friends and family may call starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, Delaware.
