Bryce, Jeanne

Jeanne McGoldrick Bryce passed away April 24, 2025. Jeanne was born December 16, 1945 in Manhattan, and raised in the Bronx, NY. In 1955 the family moved to Elizabeth, NJ. She attended Holy Family Academy in Bayonne, NJ, commuting each day by train. She was a member of the Senior Honor Society, earned an “Auxilium Latinum” award for her excellence in an annual standard Latin exam, and was voted “Most Collegiate” by the senior class.

Jeanne attended Douglass College of Rutgers Univ., graduating in 1967 with a B.S. degree in Home Economics. She worked for the Social Security Administration in a variety of technical and management positions.

Jeanne was an open and kind woman who had many dear friends. She was always a stylish dresser, took care and pride in her appearance, and everyone said she had a calm and classy demeanor. She was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain, be it small dinner parties or large family Thanksgiving dinners, for which she loved to create beautiful tablescapes. She designed and decorated beautiful interiors for each of her several homes throughout her life, and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and anything to do with fabric.

Jeanne truly loved her family, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Jeanne’s first marriage, to Paul McFarlane, ended in divorce. She married Lawrence Bryce in 1984. He survives her, along with sons Robert McFarlane (and wife Leah), James McFarlane (and wife Caroline), and stepdaughter Sarah Dinaldo (and husband Joseph), five grandchildren, and siblings Katherine Neville (and husband Anthony) and Claire Leavy.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, on Tuesday, May 6 at 10 am with a memorial service at 11 am. Interment will be private.
