Paul Ivan Clifford, age 62, of Newark, DE died Monday, November 13, 2023 at Christiana Hospital.
Paul was a graduate of Christiana High School. He served in the Air Force as a helicopter mechanic using those skills later in a civilian career as a tractor trailer and diesel mechanic. Paul liked all things mechanical including NASCAR, ARCA racing, and hot rods (NHRA). He also enjoyed fishing, cooking, and gardening.
Paul was predeceased by his mother Shirley Reed, father Lynn Ivan Clifford, and sister Donna Sutcliff. He is survived by his wife Kathleen of Newark, sister Stephanie Reed of Townsend, brother Monty Sutcliff of Michigan, sister Theresa of Virginia, daughter Jenna Taylor of Northeast, MD, son Danny Jones of Maryland, stepdaughter Chéri Pyne of Middletown, stepson Craig Biggers of Newark, and step-granddaughter Ellie Biggers of Middletown.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, December 18 at 11 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Paul’s name to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate), ASPCA (https://secure.aspca.org/donate), or the Wounded Warrior Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org).
