Carol Reese, 73, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2023. She was born on November 4, 1950 to the late Parke W. Reese Sr. and Genevieve Reese. Carol attended St. Hedwig’s High School and dedicated 35 years of her life to a fulfilling career with DuPont. In her most recent role with Serpes, she found joy connecting with both familiar faces and new friends when they visited the bakery. Carol had a generous heart and always looked for ways to offer a helping hand to others; this extended to her role as a dedicated member of the Cranston Heights Ladies Auxiliary.
Carol had quite a knack in the kitchen, especially when it came to her famous pound cake and marble cake. Her great nephew and niece, Alex and Abby, especially loved the birthday cakes “Cioc” would bake for them each year. Extra time and care was spent crafting a pound cake shaped like the age they were turning, adding a special touch to their celebrations.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Parke W. Reese Sr. and Genevieve Reese, along with her sister, Geraldine Rossiter, and nephew, Dion Rossiter. She is survived by her sister, Andrea Jonkiert (Chris); nephew, Martin Rossiter; nephew, Michael Krzyzanowski (Amy); great nephew and niece, Alexander and Abigail Krzyzanowski; and several cousins. Carol will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808, on Monday, November 20th at 11am.
